Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day

Our final fundraiser of 2026 is Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 10th December.
Whilst this is a national Save the Children event, Petersfield Branch
has taken up the challenge to involve as many Petersfield schools, businesses
and individuals as possible – and the local community has not disappointed!
This fun fundraiser is a firm favourite!

Recent Events

Petersfield Branch Committee members had a stall at the Community Fair
hosted by Churcher’s College on Sunday 5th July.
As well as talking to parents and older children about the work of Save the Children
in the UK and worldwide, young children were entertained with toys and games
and given story books to take home.

On Friday 4th September, Petersfield Branch hosted a Dinner and Auction
at the beautiful Hambledon Vineyard with stunning views across the South Downs.
Local duo, Chloe & Tom provided live music while guests enjoyed a glass of
English sparkling wine before dinner.

Auction lots were generously donated by individuals and businesses and
included a luxury holiday in the Caribbean, a round of golf with lunch at a
prestigious local club, a weekend brunch at the 5 Star Bvlgari Hotel in
Knightsbridge, and a tour, wine tasting and lunch at Hambledon Vineyard.
The Auctioneer was antiques expert and BBC’s Bargain Hunt Auctioneer,
Jonathan Pratt, who generously donated his time.
The Events Organiser was Harry Austin.
This sold-out event raised in excess of £10,000 for Save the Children!

Save the Children Big Sale

Once again this was an enormous success. Our ever-popular flagship fundraiser would
not be as brilliant as it is without the support of all the people who helped
put it all together, gave up extra time, as well as our splendid sponsors –
and of course all of you who came to support us both at the Fashion Show and the Sale.
We raised over £12,000 profit.

“Petersfield Branch raised £38,134 last year, a significant increase on the previous year total
which was £27,974. On behalf of all of us in the Community Fundraising Team, I wanted to say a huge
THANK YOU
to you all for your loyalty, commitment and outstanding support.
Your hard work and herculean efforts do not go unnoticed and are very deeply appreciated.”

We couldn’t have made this incredible total without all your support, time and hard work. What an
amazing community we have in the Petersfield area. The Sunday Times newspaper agrees with us,
listing Petersfield as of the best places to live in 2026!

With terrible events in countries around the world, Save the Children are there,
supporting and helping so many who have endured hardship, war and loss.
We thank you for supporting all the work they do.
The Committee of Save the Children Petersfield look forward to seeing you all at future events.
If you would like to help with any events, we are always looking for volunteers. Please do
contact Mal Wasley at malthemum@hotmail.com — Mal would be delighted to hear from you.
